Program Overview

The primary goal of the Rothenberger Leadership Academy is to develop physician leadership for conducting exemplary clinical care, education, and research across the entire enterprise. This creates the needed ‘bench strength’ of leaders able to address adaptive challenges and collaborate with senior leadership.

Overall program goals include:

  • Develop effective physician leadership to meet current and future needs of a complex, matrixed organization
  • Grow a vibrant “community of practice” of physician leaders who collaborate across the organization and learn personally and professionally from and with each other

Common themes are woven throughout each aspect of the program, including community building; the humanities; wellness; justice, equity, diversity & inclusion; and meaning-making and practical application.

Content Delivery

The content in RothLA is delivered through 12 modules over the course of three years. Each module is delivered as a one-and-a-half-day interactive session featuring invited speakers, group panels, small group discussions, and individual and group activities. The 2024-2027 program will be delivered in hybrid online and in-person format with the half-day being online and the full-day being in person.
